About Us
IKE Family Support Foundation is a non-profit organization which became effective on 10 February 2018. The creation of the Foundation was motivated by the dream and passion to serve the community.
IKE stands for strength, power and creativity. IKEFSF represents these qualities through connecting services to enhanced social welfare and community engagement.
IKEFSF Background
The purpose of the foundation is to direct, encourage and support individuals and families (including those with family violence, refugees and migrants) through mentoring and guidance, linking them to various support services that attend to their needs.
The Foundation support services aim to educate parent(s) and children, providing them with the relevant knowledge and information to fast-track their settlement into their local community in Australia and strengthen their wellbeing.
The Foundation provides support services for victims of family violence. One in four women in Australia has experienced at least one incident of violence by a male intimate partner (ABS, 2012). This is a homegrown issue but is growing with the rise of families immigrating to Australia coming from different backgrounds – potentially feeling isolated in a foreign environment with different cultural means of dealing with this issue.
Our Purpose
The organisation’s main objective is to engage in public benefit activities in communities through mentoring, counselling coaching, social events, workshops, and general supports such as:
- Support families with family violence
- Welfare and humanitarian activities
- Health care activities
- Education and career development
- Donations
